The Queen’s Jubilee
Queen Elizabeth II lived long enough to celebrate her Platinum jubilee, marking the 70th anniversary of her majesty ascending the throne. In other words, 70 years since she had grieved the loss of her father, his majesty, King George, shortly before becoming the Queen, on 6 February 1952.
Her majesty’s Platinum jubilee took place between June 2nd to June 5th 2022, and the lead up to this momentous event inspired me to write a short poem in memory, which you’ll find below. Afterwards, sadly, to the shock of the nation and the world, her majesty passed away.

Hear here; never fear!
The Queen here is dear,
She takes care; far and near
Of those she encounters
Not to surmount us
But to carry her Godly duty
So, indubitably I see
The Queen’s jubilee
To be a moment in life to heed
