Good, Bad & Ironclad

A friend of mine wrote this book about his incredible story, which involves boxing at a professional level, an unusual heightened intuition that’s led him into a career of helping the less fortunate, and a charismatic personality which I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing first hand.

I offered to read his book’s preview to publish here. However, when it comes to his book, he wrote this passage:

“When it comes to my life, the truth is definitely stranger than fiction. The plan is to convey these truths in the direct, hard hitting style characteristic of Iron Mike. The very act is incriminating to say the least, and common sense tells me it would be a better idea to do this as a death bed confession. However, my wits may not be about me at that final stage and besides, there is no time like the present.”

“Trouble finds you Mike,” they said. Perhaps they had it back to front…

Third world civil war, the underground fight circuit, organised crime, urban vigilantism, supernatural experiences and scariest of all, the allure of woman.

I reflect upon it all on my ongoing soul search.

My message is but a simple one. Whatever life throws your way, face it with a helping of humour and two tablespoons of toughness. Being a wimp about it only makes things worse – trust me, I know.

An unapologetic straight talker, I’m not averse to begging you to buy my book. Please? I need the money. Mainly to pay off everyone who will try to sue me, despite taking the trouble to alter their identities.

PS. This book is not about the famous boxer. My friends ripped off his nickname and affixed it to me. If he wants to fight about it, just say when (this is what passes for a disclaimer in my world).
